Selling audiences - magazine media kits

We cannot access a contemporary, 1964 media kit for Woman. However, we can explore a relatively modern media kit for Vogue arguably a competitor for Woman, although angling for a different demographic.

The purpose of a media kit is to sell advertising space to potential advertisers. Perhaps a better way of explaining this is that a media kit sells audiences.

Task - in pairs or individually

  • Using page 4 as a template (see below), construct a version of the media kit for Woman magazine, circa 1964. Use images from the set edition to illustrate your page. You will have to estimate statistics, facts and figures in most cases.
