Suggested camera settings for still photography

 The following are a list of suggested settings for still photography when using a Cannon EOS series camera:

• Camera mode: 'P' (use the scroll wheel to set the P icon)
• Image quality - RAW (push menu, the first red spanner, change image quality)
• Focus mode - AF (select AF on the MF/AF switch on the side)
• Flash - On (push the lightning icon/flash button on the top of the camera)
• Preview screen  - on (push the red dot record button to use the LCD preview screen)

Taking pictures 

• Set the zoom ring to a wide angle (18mm on a standard Cannon) and get in close
• Slightly depress the shutter release button to focus, then push the whole way down to take an image
• Command your model. Try different prompts like "be angry!" or "laugh a bit" or the classic "look directly in to the camera and don't smile".
