It's the longest unit you have done so far, and will combine media language and representation (section A) as well as industry and audience (section B). Don't worry though as this is a synoptic unit and will cover the same theories introduced in the advertising and film units.
However, you'll find this unit has a feel of its own. We'll be talking a lot about politics, bias and audience manipulation by the UK press, and you'll be wrapping up the year with a week long practical task where you will make a class newspaper!
In order to keep up with events, we're going to ask you to read a print newspaper or an online news source every day. Your final grade will depend to a great extent on your knowledge and understanding of the UK news media, so make sure you know what's going on!
