"There has been so much happening ever since I got into uni, it's keeping me busy.
I'm studying at the Rochester campus and I live in Rochester, but most of my lectures (3 times a week) are in Maidstone TV studios. This is great because students can actually work in professional Television studios and occasionally meet celebrities (however we have to obey the "Don't approach the talent" rule 😞 ). I signed up to be a stand in in a game show called Take Me Out that was being filmed here at the studios but unfortunately I couldn't make it, but I will probably have another opportunity to sign up next year.
A bunch of fun facts I want to show off:
- I've worked on a guerilla film called Blackout 2.0 as a 2nd Director's Assistant which was loads of fun! The Director Derek Boyes was such a nice person and I cannot wait for him to finish editing what we shot.
- My lecturer (Simon Welsford) is an actual film director and has his feature film screened in Hollywood (which he is very proud of and reminds us of it whenever he can)
- We get to use and play around with 4K Panasonic cameras, which is awesome because we can take them out to practice. When I booked out equipment for the first time, I just put "camera" down on the form and I was so surprised to be given a 4K camera. I was expecting something less expensive.
So yeah. Uni is awesome. There is loads of work, but I find it less stressful than Long Road. To any of your students that are hesitating whether to go to uni or not: ...do it. It is really worth it.

So there you have it: Uni is officially less stressful than Long Road!
